FIRST: This is your official reminder that the deadline for vids is about a month away, on May 5. Plenty of time, but note that day. Treats (which can be made by anyone even if you're not signed up!) will be due May 12, which is the tentative go live day for the vids, assuming that everyone has a vid by then. (That day might change if we have to get pinch hitters or, um, if it takes me longer than I think to upload all the vids). I'll include it if I get it by the time I post everything, but it'd be ideal to get the treats to me by May 11, so I can upload them and have everything ready on the 12 (but if you're working on something down to the wire, let me know and I can probably wait for you).

If it gets close to the deadline and you're not quite done but need an extension or something, let me know and we'll figure something out. I don't want you to have to drop out because you might be a couple days late!

If you won't be able to finish your vid and need to drop out, please drop me a line and let me know. You don't need to give me a reason or anything, just please let me know so a pinch hitter can be found.

Assignments have been matched and sent! I think we got a really good set of matches, yay! Your assignment should be waiting in your inbox, either by email from tsccvidexchange at gmail or as a PM from me. If you did NOT receive your assignment, let me know ASAP. (If you think I made a dire mistake in assignments, i.e. assigned you something you did not offer, let me know and I'll see what's up. Hopefully I did not make dire mistakes!)

All the info you should need is in the assignment email (I think!). But to review, rules and guidelines are here, and information about submitting is here. Vids are due May 5, at midnight, Eastern time. Vids will go live May 12, or as soon after that as everyone has a vid.

Additional info that has changed a little: Treats, i.e. extra vids you make for anyone who has signed up based on their requests, are allowed and embraced with much joy. Anyone can make a treat. You do not need to be signed up to make a treat. Treats will be included as long as they are received before the vids go live, which will hopefully be May 12, but may be later if we are waiting on last-minute assignments. (If you’re working on a treat down to the wire towards the end, let me know and we’ll work it out). You can review the requests that participants have made at the sign-up post.

Given that most voters had no preference about anonymity, but the few people who did voted in favor of anonymity, I decided we'd go ahead and make the vids anonymous when they're posted. It makes sense in my head! When vids are submitted and first go live, they will be anonymous. One week after the vids go live, vidder names will be revealed.

More detailed submission instructions, including a template for submitting, will follow when it gets much closer (and I have more time to write them). But just so everyone knows what they're getting into when they sign up, here's an overview of how submissions will work.

One thing we have to decide before I can give posting instructions for the vids is whether the vids should be anonymous when they first go live. The exchange will be "anonymous" in that you shouldn't tell anyone but betas, cheerleaders, etc. who you are vidding for until the vids are posted.

But the question here is whether the vids should go live unsigned, without the vidder's name for a week or two, in the way that Yuletide, festivids, and many other exchanges are anonymous when the works are first posted. Then a week or two after the vids first go live, vidders' names will be revealed and signed versions will be posted. The instructions for how to submit vids (unsigned and/or signed, as necessary) will be posted later, depending on how many people sign up and what we decide.

I don't promise to abide by the results of the poll, because it may just be easier not to have anonymous reveals. But it will be helpful to know what people prefer!
