OMGS. The song is just perfect for Sarah - I knew it already and I love it but somehow I never thought of it in connection with her. Which is clearly crazy because now I'm never going to be hear it without thinking of it as a song about her. So many gutpunching lyrical associations - excommunicated atheist/expatriate hit me like a freight train, and all the people she wants to warn and can't - Felicia and Terissa and Andy. Her stunning lack of surprise on "surprise". And the shifts of focus and quick cuts in the final musical section.

YAY. I was hoping you already liked the song, or would if you heard it. I don't why either, but it didn't immediately strike me as a Sarah song until the day it suddenly did and then all the lyrics were about her. I'm glad you like it, and you're welcome! <3

Wow, this is so good! I think one of the most understated struggles on the show was Sarah maintaining her sense of self in the face of impossibly difficult choices and incomprehensible loss, and you've done a great job illustrating it here. A+ choice of song, too. :)

Thank you! YES YES EXACTLY. This comment makes me excited because, just, yes, I think that was one of understated but persistent struggles on the show, and possibly my most favorite thing about her is how she simply refuses to lose her sense of self even amongst a ton of doubt. Sometimes it just looks like stubbornness but as a theme it's amazing. I totally wanted to capture a bit of it here. I'm so pleased it worked for you!
